March 5th to 11th, 2012~~Southern Oaks Weekly Re-Cap~~

March 5th   Monday
We were up early, nice breeze blowing in the window, but it was humid out so, I turned on the A/C to to take out some of the humidity.  Seeing that I had all our tax papers together and ready to send to Wisconsin, we decided to see if we could find someone in this area to do them.. We did find someone and now it is all taken care of and that is a Good Thing.... Uncle Sam, let us have some money back this year instead of us paying. That made us happy..
Came back home to find that the rest of our blinds that Dan ordered arrived.  We had 3 windows left not changed, so now the whole back of the trailer has new window treatments..  Yipp-ee-e-e They sure are easy to use and look very nice.
I went through our calendar for the summer and made the reservations for the Rally's that we are going to be attending.. I am a procrastinator and I try not to be..... but it is done and most of it is paid for in advance.
March 6th   Tuesday
We had a lunch date to meet Jim and Pat Doggett and 3 people from their park who was on the cruise with us.  They are Dave and Jane Efhington from Norway Michigan which is not far from us.  We talked about the cruise and Rv'ing and general things.  Hope to see them this summer
We cleaned and Dan installed the new blinds and washed the windows.
March 7th   Weds
Dan had 6 guys who wanted to go on a fishing charter, and the winds were 30 MPH and they cancelled... So, then we had alternate plans to join our friends Ron and Rose from Corpus Christi for dinner.  Mic and Linda also joined us. The 3 couples all met on our 1st cruise that we went on 4 years ago. We get together as often as we can.  We went to an Italian restaurant that they found and it was all good authentic home made food.  It was really good.
Then we got home we settled in for the evening..

March 8th  Thursday
Windy out this morning in matter of fact all day.. We had some errands to run, and we had to take Herbie out for a ride.. We haven't had him out for a ride in some time so we decided that we needed some Herbie time.  He loved every minute of it.
We got back in time to get cleaned up and leave for dinner again with our Heartland Friends.   There was a small group of us as most of them have left to go home.
We did have a good time and they had $1.00 Margarita's,  yummy...

When we got home it was still light out and not too cold.
Our neighbors were having their own Oysterfest.  They bought a 100lb bag of oysters and shucked them and then they had a few friends bring side dishes and had their feast.. Some were eaten raw and then some were put on the grill with butter, hot sauce and Parmesan cheese.. I was asked if I would like to try some and I graciously said "NO Thank You"
Dan made some coffee and we sat out for a while... Our friends Judy and Dave stopped over and we visited with them.
It turned dark just that fast... huh we didn't even notice it.    Oh well, at least we got to sit out for awhile.

March 9th   Friday
Had Doctor appointment this morning, rainy and light fog as we were heading into Corpus. Had to wait 2 and half hours to see the Dr.  I was not a happy person. He wanted me to go and get some blood work and he did not even send down the order to the Lab.  We went to Kohls as we had a 30% coupon and I knew that there was something that i really needed and wanted to use that great coupon.  After words we went back to the lab and they still had not received his lab orders.  I was not happy again. So-o-o,  I decided that my time was as precious as his so I will not see him again..   Before we headed back home we stopped at Jason's Deli for lunch and I had their famous Ruben Sandwich. I just love them.  We were so full when we got home, that we had something really light for a snack for a late dinner.  Took Herbie for a walk when we got back and then I we turned up the heat and we settled in our chairs.
March 10th  Saturday
Rainy and 60 degrees out.. Cold and no sun... Made breakfast at home.. WOW!! yep, to cold to go out in the rain. We had to go grocery shopping..Oh, how I hate to do that. Everything has gone up in prices...
We ate at home and and stayed warm as it was windy still.

March 11th  Sunday

There was no rain and it was still chilly out.... In the 60's when we got.  I got laundry ready to do Monday...  I was asked to have a class on making flower pins so I got my stuff all together.  We had the class on Sunday afternoon and 9 ladies came.  Just a right group...  Everyone had a good time and they all came up with different pretty flowers...

Came back in time to watch the NASCAR race and put a roast in the oven.. I said to Dan WOW this is the 3rd day in a row we ate at home...  The roast was really yummy...

Cookeville-Crossville area and catch up with our friends from Spring City, before we head north..

February 26th - March 4th , 2012~~Southern Oaks Weekly Re-Cap~~

February 27th   Monday
Foggy in the morning and light rain.
Dan and I had some errands to run in Corpus Christi, so we took off early.  We ate at t he China Garden in Corpus and that is a favorite of ours.  We took the long way home on Mustang Island and then we had to wait 45 minutes in the ferry line.
Got back in time to watch part of the Daytona 500..
February 28th   Tuesday60 degrees this morning with light fog and rain during the morning. The sun comes and goes.. Not much happening today, just hanging around and visiting with our neighbors.

February 29th  Wednesday
HOC  lunch at Port Royal with our Heartland friends.  We had about 18 with us and we had such a wonderful time with them..  What we enjoy about the Heartland Friends, is that they accept you for who Also, they enjoy being with you.

 March 1st    Thursday
We decided yesterday at lunch that we will have breakfast at the Bakery Cafe with any one who wanted to come. 6 of us attended.   Lee and Linda will be leaving for back home in Spring City, Tennessee and we wanted to just have one last visit before they leave.
Later we went out for supper at Pizza Hut, that has been a standing dinner date unless we go to the island and have prime rib on Thursday night.

March  2nd  Friday
Breakfast with Reggie, Nancy, Dave and Mary.  Breakfast seems to be the meal of the day that everyone likes to go out for.. They are from Wisconsin and of course Heartland owners.  They are in our park or a month, and we will see them again in June when we all head for Gillette, WY for the International Rally.  They like to go our to eat also and see sights too.

Later in the day we were invited to a Happy Birthday Pot luck for  Jackie, Jerry and Sam.  We had to bring a dish to pass and they provided the hots dogs and hamburgers..  I brought my hot German potato salad and there were so many great side dishes.

Afterwards we came home and sat in our chairs outside and rested our full bellies.

March 3rd  Saturday
Went to breakfast with Gene and LaVerne at the Bakery Cafe.. It was really busy, but we had a good chance to visit and catch up. Came back home and spent the rest of the putzing around. Dan and Dave went and tried to help a neighbor's DVD to work and it was unsuccessful.. Dave said that he has to research it a bit more. Then they went to work on our hook-up for direct tv and found the problem,  there was a small minuet piece of wire sticking out and was preventing the connection.    After that was done Dave and Mary and Reggie and Nancy came by for Happy Hour and then Dan and I went and made dinner...

March 4th   Sunday
It was a nice day, Dan made breakfast and then I started getting tax papers together while Dan moved the furniture back to where is is suppose to be... We switched the chairs and the sofa around.  Then I walked Mr., Herbie and we got ready to go out to eat with Ben and Emma.  She had her heart set on Mexican food and we bragged up this restaurant in Corpus.  When we got there the parking lot was empty and then we noticed that it was closed on Sundays.  Well I guess everyone needs a day of rest. We ended up over at Cheddars and I had Bourbon glazed salmon..  Emma had Nachos not exactly the good Mexican meal. Took the shoreline home and it was nice to see people enjoying the beach.

What a week...... later
