~~ Another Week In The Life Of A Winter Texan ~~
January 23rd   Monday

Up early this morning and went to Corpus Christi ...Went to a few shops and Joanne Fabrics. On of the ladies here does lockerstich.. I was intrigued with what she was doing and I was looking for the needle and the backing. I had a hard time finding it but I did. Then went to Wal-Mart and bought some cheaper fabric.. So I am working on my first trivet and hopefully the 2nd one will look lots better.

Then we went to dinner with our HOC friends at Beaches.  We had been there before and everyone loved the place so they wanted to go back.. We had 19 join us..  It was Lee and Linda's 30th wedding anniversary and the next day Lee would have his 67th birthday.. I brought mini cupcakes to celebrate...

Got up early and meet Lee and Linda at The Bakery Cafe for breakfast..  They have a great breakfast special..

Then Dan and I went and picked up our mail, headed home and just hung around..

January 25th   Wednesday

It rained early in the morning and of course Herbie went and hid along slide of bed by closet. Dan and I went to the Civic Center in Aransas Pass for The Coastal Bend Leisure and Travel Show.
We went to lunch at Trout Street and met Ann and Joe who were across the street from us last year. It was sure nice seeing them. Susan and Arnold and Jerry and Shirley were also there.. Liver and Onions were on the menu and it was sure good...

January 26th    Thursday

49 degrees at 7 am

Went to Corpus to have some blood work done.
Went to Verizon to have our new broadband card activated..
Went and had lunch at Jason's Deli.. Oh, it was so so good.  My favorite is Reuben Sandwich.  Then on to Sam's Club and got a few things.  Headed home and relaxed.
January  27th   Friday

Up early and got few things done and then got ready to meet Lee and Linda and Kevin and Nelle at KIKO's..  One of our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area.  Such colorful dining rooms and the service is good.   Our HOC friends were very impressed.

We came home and suffered from full bellies..

January 28th    Saturday

Richard Conrad came over and had a visit and coffee and then Dan and I went over and picked up Gene and Linda and we went to Corpus and picked up our information and tickets for our cruise...  We got yellow shirts this time.. Those blue ones we got the last time were ugly.  Then went and had an early dinner at China Garden..  More food  ; '>(
I only had one plate.. Came home and went and did laundry and when we got back I was tired.  Packed a bag so we could leave early Sunday morning....  WOW  I need to relax..
January 30th   Sunday

Headed for The Rio Grande Valley. Weather was nice, sun was shining.  Stopped in Kingsville at Big House Brunch for breakfast (1st exit going South,  3rd exit going North)  That is our favorite spot to stop at.
Got to Weslaco Palm Aire around 2 o'clock, got settled in and watched a few programs..  Downloaded the Garmin 20212 update, and while that was updating we went for dinner...  Chili's was the place of choice, and of course too much food.. Herbie was alone in the hotel and was happy to see us return...  Tuesday morning we go to our friends home for the rest of the week.           Time for bed...    ~~Good Night~~
