March 25th thru March 31st 2013

Last Week In Aransas Pass --- Happy Easter....

March 25th   Monday
45 degrees this morning, Going to go to Corpus shopping....
David (my brother) called and said that he was in Georgia on his way to North Carolina, and that the highways are packed with Snowbirds heading north.
The guys shopped at Harbor Freight and Northern Tool.  Eileen and I bought at Academy Sports and we had fun looking around at Cavenders Western Wear store...  We had lunch at Denny's.. Came home and took Mr. Herbie out for his walk and then I put my feet up for a while.  Dan noticed that one of the batteries in the 5th wheel was getting hot and it was time to get a new one, so we went to Wal-mart and bought a new battery. We don't need any problems on the road...

March 26th   Tuesday
45 degrees this morning and the sun came out brightly.. Hopefully it will be a nice day..
Dan went and got a haircut and then this afternoon Eileen and I will go and get ours cut.  Dan and I went out for a sandwich for lunch and then went over to Howard's to give them an intinery of our travel plans when we leave.  I made a dinner at home tonight and it sure was good.

Went and said good-bye to our neighbors Walt and Marge.  They won't be coming back next year, and we just chatted on a casual basis, but it was nice having them as neighbors.
Time to put feet up and relax.  Oh we do alot of relaxing... LOL

March 27th   Wednesday
55 degrees this morning... Our neighbors Walt and Marge left early this morning.   Fishing Day for Dan..  Eileen, Linda and Myself are headed for Corpus and I printed off some coupons for our favorite stores.
Our 1st stop was at Micheal's and it is so hard to find something to use the 40% coupon on, when what I wanted was on sale already.. Then the next stop was at Hobby Lobby, same there, 40% coupon, I found a birthday gift for a friend,,, Then we went to The Botanical Gardens.  It was really interesting.. They had a reptile room, and there were alot of exotic birds outside in cages.  There is an orchid room, I personally don't see any beauty in orchids. They have a succulent area, where huge plants and cactus are. The have a herb garden which we got some ideas on how to plant them and mark which herbs they are. The guys did not do good fishing today.. The jetty boat was in for repairs so they went to different areas and did not do any good.
So, when we all were back home after a long day, The Howard's, Erickson's and us decided to go to Pizza Hut for dinner.

March 28th    Thursday
It was in the low 60's this morning. I woke up and my right ankle was hit by that Arthritis.. I the other side was swollen. I was hobbling around and got the Ice machine out and Dan wrapped by ankle up and let the machine on for a couple of hours.   Dan worked outside and packed up the rest of the stuff.  Took down the satellite dish.  He went over to Howard's and got his fishing cart and some of his stuff and took it over to the storage unit.  It will be nice that we didn't have to take our dish home.  We met our friends Pat and Jim Doggett in Corpus at KiKo's for a late lunch/early dinner. Ron and Eileen enjoyed the food also..  They have really good homemade salsa, and I have to try to duplicate it.  We came back home and I took Mr. Herbie out for his walk. I seen our neighbor Carrie (from Northern Minnesota) and she walked with me and we had a nice conversation on the way.  Our park is getting pretty empty.

March 29th    Friday        Good Friday
64 degrees this morning, sun is out.  Dan was is out wiping the dew off of the truck. My foot feels better this morning. I went and put alot of things away this morning.  I went to wash some clothes while Dan went and got some fuel.  My friend Judy gave me a cute little lamp that she didn't have any use for.  Just what I have been looking for.

Thank You Judy, I love it and when I look at it I will always think of you....

It seems like we are all ready to leave.  Dan and I and the Howard's went to Moby Dick's for dinner.  When we got back home, I worked on making a wind sock.

March 30th    Saturday

65 degrees this morning and sun is shining and the wind is gone... Yippe-e-e-e never fails when we are ready to depart there is no wind.   Dan, I and Eileen are going to Corpus to use our Bed, Bath and Beyond, Coupon... and then we are stopping at HEB to pick up a few things that we need for the road. Finished getting the last minute stuff put away, had dinner and then went to Dairy Queen for a good bye dessert.

March 31st    Sunday     Easter Sunday

Up early this morning. Nice morning out, Today is the day we leave the park..   Ron and Eileen came over at 7:45 AM  to say good byes and hugs.  They are heading to Illinois at their son Ron and family..

We left at 9AM and Howard's are following us again this year.  We met them at the Park Entrance and off we went.  The 5 months sure went fast.. We headed up to the hill country.

We stopped at the biggest BUC-EE's fuel stop we have seen.  Oh it is awesome.. Arrived at Riverside RV Resort about 1:30 PM and our Heartland friends who now call this park their summer home, had no idea that we were coming.  They were not here when we arrived. We are kiddy-corner from them, I can not wait until they get home and see us..

Lee and Linda came home and came around the corner and seen that there was a Landmark parked and then seen our truck and said oh my gosh that is Dan.  They were so surprised and Linda hopped out of the truck and came running over, laughing and smiling. So happy to see us.. It was hard to keep the secret.... But well worth the surprise.
