~~House for Sale, Getting Ready for Auction, 4th of July ~~

This Blog, is a Long Time Coming....

Who would ever think that a simple question to Dan and a thought I had could lead to a life changes.  The question was " have you ever thought of putting our house up for sale".. and the thought was moving to a warmer place.

JUNE:
Offer made on our house.. When we got home we made the decision to put our house up for sale and called the realtor and signed the contract.. We never thought that we would get an offer in 10 days and we took it..

Heartland Owners Club Rally in June:
Dan and I went to Millersburg, Ohio for The Heartland Ohio Rally.  It was held in the heart of Amish country.  Our friends Hoyt and Mary from Indiana met us there, and along with 3 other OHIO Heartland Owners.  Mary was raised in that area and she was a great tour guide.  We really enjoyed it.  I really like the Ohio Amish country alot better than the Shipshewanna Indiana..

JULY:

4th of July at Tourist Park:  Our friends Barb and Ralph from Indiana, and Jim and Lou from Tomah Wisconsin came up for the annual 4th of July week in Munising along with fabulous fireworks.. The weather was better than I expected seeing that it was so cold for many weeks.

Dan's Back Surgery; Dan's back surgery went well and the surgeon inserted a 'COFLEX" spring in the back. He does not have any back pain and his legs are not burning. It is just amazing what technology is doing.  Sure wish that there could be a "FIX" for cancer and people don't have to suffer with it.

Hired a  mover;
We decided that we had to hire a mover to move our stuff and keep it in storage until we find a home.  So we went thru the house, and 2 barns and shed and brought everything into the big barn.  Kept only what we want and put the rest in the auction.
It was a very stressful time in our lives.

July 27th auction;
Dan and I decided that we didn't want to be at the house for the auction. It would been to emotional to see our stuff being taken away by someone else. Our good friends Ron and Eileen and my brother and sister-in-law came up from Wisconsin to act in our behalf.. We took off for the day and did some errands and had a nice lunch. Come around 3 PM we drove past the house and seen that there wasn't any cars or trucks around so I called and was told that the auction was over with..  there were people still around talking and visiting. There was some rain but it all worked out well as most everything was under roof..  The end results was very satisfying.. So glad that we had the auction..

July 29th Dan's cataract surgery;
After the auction Dan had an appointment to have his cataracts removed. He was a little apprehensive, but everyone was telling him that it was a piece of cake.. He knew that he was having problems seeing and he wanted it fixed..  The eye they did was the worse one... I took him home and played nurse to him and faithfully put his medicine
in his eye.  The next one was to be done 3 weeks later.

Trip to Tennessee with a trailer and looking at homes;
After the auction and Dan's eye surgery, our time schedule is critical.  We needed to get some stuff that the movers couldn't put in storage, to a storage locker in Tennessee..  We rented a U-haul trailer and with the help of friends got it loaded up and the next day my good friend Eileen went along with us to help drive (cause Dan just had eye surgery) and help unload the stuff into a storage locker..We had like 5 days before we had to be back home, so we could get ready to go to The Wisconsin Heartland Rally.  It was a nice ride down there and the weather was nice.. Eileen and I did most of the unloading of the trailer and the last thing we took off was the granite rock that came off of my grandparents farm in South Dakota.
We left on a Thursday morning and got to Tennessee on Friday, spent Saturday looking at some homes and then left Sunday for Michigan and arrived Monday..The leaves were starting to change and that gave us a indication that it is going to be a early fall.
August 5th - Wisconsin Heartland Owners Rally;
Our Heartland friends Jay and Stella were at our home while we were gone. When we got home Stella had dinner for us.. Bless her heart.I was not in the mood to cook.  We had a banquet table on the back porch and lawn chairs and made the best of what we had.. On Weds we hooked up and headed for Lake Delton Wisconsin for the Wisconsin Rally.  We stopped in Gladstone and had breakfast which is always a must when we are on the road trip.   We arrived at Country Roads Rv in the afternoon and was greeted by more of our Heartland friends.. It was a great time and as always good food, laughs and some relaxing.

Sad News..
When we were at the end of the Wisconsin Rally, I got the news that my good friend from The Copper Country had lost her husband of 25 years.  He had cancer, they found out in the last stages.  I was just so so sad to hear this, their marriage was a Fairy Tale Love affair.  They both were so much in love with each other. I wish that  could be around longer to be there for her.  She does have a great group of friends who will be there for her.
August 14th - Movers came to pick up rest of our stuff for storage..
The movers came and emptied out our home and putting it in storage until we are ready for it in Tennessee. I was in our 5th wheel and watching them and couldn't believe that they got everything in the truck.. It was full.  The last thing was Dan's tool chest (3 layers high) that was a very hard struggle..
Herbie still was confused why everything was being emptied out of our house.. He kept wanting to go back in the house and he went in looked around and came running back to the door.  He wanted out.. It was sad to watch..

Living in our Heartland, leaving the property, closing on the home.
It was time to leave the property.  Dan had the trailer all hooked up, and I had my car full. Herbie was in the car and I stood outside looking around the property, remembering when it was all woods, and all the work we done, the small pine tree we planted and how it has grown to a big beautiful tree.  The tears started flowing and I got in the car and was waiting for Dan to pull out.  He was having his own sad moment and then we pulled out..Went 4 miles north of our house and now we are house less and living in the Key Largo.  We have full hook-ups with 50 amps, but we have poor ell service, only 1 antenna on TV CBS, and our Internet is 3G..  Dan went and bought a Dish Tailgater and receiver, only to find out that there are so many trees around that we can not get a clear view of the southern sky..  Then he also bought a external antenna for the Verizon card and sometimes it gives us 4G.. Well things will get better..It is nice to be around our good friends Ron and Eileen and Herbie gets his Molly fix often.

I had gone to the vein clinic as I have a bad leg of vericose veins. After testing, it was determined that I need to have surgery to take care of the pain.  Well, I have to wear compression pantyhouse for 3 months before medicare will approve the surgery.. So that meant I had to order the hose. OMG.. 140.00 for a pair of panty hose..

Dan had Cataract removed off his other eye and that is doing great.  He can see so clearly but as most cataract surgeries, he will need something for close up reading..

My friend Eileen had made plans with me a couple of weeks ago to take me out for a going away lunch at one of my favorite places in Marquette.. Elizabeth's Chop House.  So, Sept 2nd we went, and I was surprised to see 12 of my other friends there waiting to have lunch with us.  I ended our get together telling everyone that I thanked them for their friendship and all the fun we have had over the years..

Eileen and I went and did some shopping afterwards.

Soon, Sept 21st we say good bye Upper Peninsula and we head to Wisconsin to spend a few days with our good friends Sandy and Ray.. then from there we head to Amana, Iowa for the 1st Central Region Heartland Rally..  then we head to Elkhart to get some repairs done on our Landmark, and we should be at our new home for Dan's Birthday.  So friends, this is all the news..

SORRY, NO PICTURES THIS TIME.....
