Welcome,

Welcome to my blog... Dan and I are always on the go and always have something to share. By the time we see or talk to you we have forgotten some of the highlights. So Hopefully you will enjoy our adventures and stories as we have enjoyed being there.

July 22nd thru August 25th 2014 What Is Happening At Halvorsen's Hideway

What Is Happening At Halvorsen's Hideway

July 22nd    Monday
I was up early and headed to Marquette so I could make my appointment with my doctor.  My mother went along with me.  She went to the Walk In Clinic as she is still having pain from her fall.  Came to find out that she had a fracture from her fall over the weekend.  The ER that she went to did not even see that.

Then afterwards, I did my shopping that I had to do.. We were gone 6 hours and when we got back I was tired.

July 25th  Thursday

Cooler day and we picked up Eileen and went to Munising to a garage sale and then went to The Bear Trap for lunch. Had pasties and soup and it was oh so-o-o good.  Mom had a hair appointment
Dan had been out cutting wood that we have had stock piled out on the side of the barn.. He worked on it for a few days. It was alot of work and tiring for him..

July 26th Friday

Rain Rain in the morning and it rained all day.  Did not do much, stayed home, Mom read her book, and crossword puzzles.  Dan prepared a fish fry for dinner. Ron and Eileen and Molly came for dinner also. It was a laid back day.*****************************************************************

Another month is gone and I still haven't been on track with my blog... It has been just so crazy and hardly had a chance to unwind.

Here are some more pictures and news..
My mother was still visiting with us and she got to meet alot of our friends,
Heartland Friends Jay and Stella from the Houston Texas area and who are The Heartland Owners Group Regional Director came and stayed with us.  I was nice to see them and have them with us.D
Dan had made his smoked ribs for Jay and Stella..  Afterwards we had a nice campfire in our back yard.  The waterfall was on, what more could one ask for.

Dan and I and Jay and Stella headed to Lake Delton for the Wisconsin Heartland Rally on August 7th..As usual it was a great Rally and saddened to find out that Tom and Gerry are stepping down as Wisconsin State Chapter Leaders. They are going full time and traveling the country.  We  had a pig roast on Saturday night along with lots of other great foodie time. It was great to see everyone as usual.

After the Wisc Rally Dan and I headed to Elkhart Indiana to pick up our new 2014 Heartland Landmark, Key Largo... We got such a good deal on our old Landmark, plus a very generous rebate from Heartland.  So, this is the last one for sure.

2014  Landmark Key Largo

We stayed longer in Elkhart as we wanted to make sure we did not have any issues that needed attention.  Mr. Herbie is quite not sure what to think of all this, but he will adjust.

Our next Rally is August 21st and that is only about 60 miles from home. Prior to leaving for the Rally Rex and Stacy Hastey from Oklahoma came and stayed over night. Dan made his famous ribs for dinner and we also invited our good friends Ron and Eileen over for dinner.

Herbie sure has had his share of friends come and visit this summer..

We are home for awhile so we can rest up and Dan can do some changes on our new Key Largo, and then we are off to The Soo Locks Campground for a RnR.. It is just so peaceful sitting on the shore watching those big ships come through.

Later,
