November 12, 2012 to November 18, 2012

November 12th    Monday     ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN~
Happy Birthday to Me.......It was a nice day.  Later in the morning, Dan took me to Corpus as I wanted to go to a few stores and pick up a few things.  I love to go to WORLD MARKET, they have so many different items to look at and seeing that the holidays are coming.  Then I wanted to go to Hobby Lobby.  I walked around the store and picked up a few items. Then I wanted to go home via the Island.  We drove on the beach and the surf was really wild and we seen some parasailer's riding the waves.  As we got into Port Aransas, asked if we could stop at Dairy Queen for a blizzard.  I wanted to have a mini blizzard.  When we got there, I order 2 small blizzards and I forgot about the mini one. Well I ate the whole thing.  This was the first one I had in months.  The small one was just too much.  It did not settle to well with me.  Oh well, after a while, I felt better.  For dinner Dan took me to BlackBeards in Ingelside.  I got $12.00 off my meal seeing it was my birthday.  Well I had grilled shrimp and zucchini strips and it was really good.  There was another lady celebrating her birthday with her friends.  Came home and settled in for the evening and watched our favorite programs, 2 Broke Girls and Mike and Molly...  Yep, it was a great day, of course I am another year older.

November  13th   Tuesday
The weather has gotten cooler out. Time for  jackets and long pants.  I had to go to Wal-mart and pick up a few items for the Pot Luck Breakfast tomorrow.  I also wanted to check in to getting a electric throw for me when I sit in my chair. AH!! I found one, and it was $19.99. Got one and oh, it is so nice.  We stayed home for dinner, which was a good thing. I had a pastie in the freezer for Dan and I had a bowl of tomato basil soup with crackers.  We have to empty out our freezer.  I enjoyed using my new throw this evening..

November  14th   Wednesday
It is 54 degrees this morning. Looking out the windows this morning, the park is still pretty empty.  We are having a Pot Luck Breakfast this morning. Dan is making healthy waffles.  Oh they are so so good. There were 9 couples that came and we had a lot of good food.  It was nice to get together.   We were going to have it outside by our unit, but with the cooler weather, we went inside the clubhouse.  After breakfast Dan, went to RV store to pick up some bulbs for a light and a refrigerator fan.  It is an awesome item.  It keeps the air circulating and keeps the milk and juice nice and cold.. The one we had stopped working and we needed another one.  Then Dan was outside repairing his chair that had broke.
We had to be in Port Aransas at 5 PM for dinner with our HOC friends.
As we were waiting for the ferry a ocean freighter was going out to the gulf..  Those ships sure are big...

We met at Finn's and tonight was the 1st time that I had a patty melt..  It was on Texas Toast. Well, it was good, but I could only eat half of it and not all the bread it was on.  I had a few french fries.

As we were sitting in the restaurant looking over the marina to the parking lot, Dan noticed that there was a old GMC motorhome re-built and hooked on a back of a pickup truck with a goose neck hitch.  We drove over there to see it, and took a few pictures.

Got back to our unit and snuggled up with my throw, and now Herbie figured out that my lap was a good place to lay.

November  15th   Thursday
This morning it was in the high 50's when we got up.  It was a lazy morning, which is a good thing once and a while.  Dan went out with the boys this morning for coffee.
It was sort of a quiet day today. This evening, we are invited to go to John and Carol Zurn's for a spaghetti dinner.

.

It was delicious and we all had a good time.

November 16th   Friday
Woke up this morning to rain. The temp is 62.  Sure hope that the sun comes out today.
So sad to hear that there will be no more Hostess Twinkies and cup cakes.... We had a bunch of errands to run, from getting extra sets of keys made for the 5th wheel to running to get our mail, that did not arrive.  What are we paying for priority mail for if it does not arrive any faster.  We stopped at Subway for a sandwich and brought it home for lunch.  I took Mr. Herbie for a walk and then I settled in to relax for a bit. We stayed home for dinner tonight.  Yippeee.. Dan grilled some rib eye steaks and they were so good.  It was a good day...

November  17th   Saturday
The sun is shining brightly this morning.  Looking forward to a nice day.  This morning I wanted to go to Kohl's in Corpus. So off we went thinking that we will beat some of the shoppers.  I am in search of some new capri's or jeans that fit me.   I printed off a 20% off coupon from the Kohl's website along with a 40% one from hobby Lobby.  In Kohl's I could not find any jean capri's, I found a pair of cotton ones on the sale rack.  In matter of fact the store was overstocked with everything. The aisles were full and the racks were packed. They definitely are getting ready for Black Friday.  I am staying clear of all stores until a week after Thanksgiving.. I do not need anything that bad that i have to put myself through that torture.  Stopped at Hobby Lobby and picked up a cork board for the park to use as a bulletin board. I used my 40% coupon on that.
Stopped at Gene and Linda's for a visit and their friends, Lynn and Nylia were there so we had a nice visit and Dan and Gene made plans to go fishing next week.
We got back to our park and Herbie was ready for his walk.  I think that he misses being home, as I just open the door and let him out, and he takes his walk-a-bouts.. I keep an eye on him but he still sneaks away to the woods line for new smells.  Dan went to Happy Hour and I stayed back and worked on my computer, cleaning out e-mails.  I had almost 2,000 of them that I deleted.  Oh yes, I know, that is too many to keep. They are gone forever now.    Dan grilled country ribs and dinner was so good.  All I could eat is 1/2 of a rib..  Time to settle in for the evening...

November  18th   Sunday
55 degrees this morning and suppose to get up to 77 by this afternoon. This week sure came to an end fast and next week I will be deciding what I am going to be bringing to the Thanksgiving Potluck.
Today is also the last NASCAR race for the year, and it will be interesting to see who will be the champion.  It was a interesting race, and Happy that Jeff won the race and Brad won the championship for Roger Penske Racing Team.
Dan went down for Happy Hour in the park.
After the race Dan and I met Gene and Linda at a new restaurant that we wanted to try out.  It is a family style restaurant, we all had fish, and it was good.  By the time we left the place was packed, so that must mean that the place has good food.  When we got back home, Dan got his stuff ready for fishing tomorrow.  Sure hope that he has a good day...   Hope that your week was good...
