October 29th -- Magnolia Lakes Campground,Arkadelphia to Goodrich, TX

It was 38 degrees this morning when we got up..  Got on the road about 8:30 am.  Our neighbors left before us which was good as it was a tight fit .. We got to the Texas State line and stopped for fuel at Timpson, and I seen a WHATABURGER.. the first one that we seen.  Since it was lunch time, I told Dan that we had to have our 1st WHATABURGER for the season.. It was as good as ever..
We made it to Goodrich about 3:30 Pm at Magnolia Lakes Campground.. There is no lake but a small pond and some Magnolia trees.  The owners are very nice and accomadating. After we got unhooked our friends Larry and Ginnie called and said that they are about an hour away and they are going to come here tonight also.. What a wonderful Surprise.  When they arrived they were put right next to us and of course there were lots of hugs.  Asked if they wanted to go out to eat with us and they said no, not tonight that they were exhausted and just wanted to fix something in their unit and unwind. Dan and I went to a really great Mexican place off of Hwy 59 Business, EL BURRITO. Very good food.  Came back and Larry and Ginny came over here for a visit after they had gotten done with their dinner.  I had told them about my stiff neck that I have and she went and got their electro-stimulator and put it on my neck for 30 minutes and oh did it fell good.  We will see what it feels like in the morning.  Larry is going to send me the address of the place that he got his from and I think that I will get myself one of those. It is used for muscle and back pain... ..
In the morning the 2 of us are going to head for Victoria to Gateway to the Gulf RV for 2 nights.  There will be some other couples that will be there also.    Then on Nov, 1st we are going to head for Aransas Pass and our parks that we are all going to....

On The Road Again~~~October 25-26-27-28 2011

October 25th. Tuesday
We stayed in the trailer last night as Dan had the house all drained. We went to say goodbye to our neighbors and Herbie got to play with Molly and they got their last growls..
It was dark when we left at 7 AM. Got to the Mackinac Bridge and there was hardly any traffic going across. The bridge is about 2 1/2 hours from our home  We had hard rains from Gaylord Michigan to Grand Rapids and then off and on the rest of the way down.
We were headed for Elkhart Indiana, to meet up with our Canadian Friends Ian and Mary.. It was nice to see them again.  Hard to believe that 6 months went so fast when we last seen them..  As we were sitting outside visiting another Heartland Owner friend came pulling in.  Jim and Nancy Beletti.. We went and said our Hello's.  We were going to go out to eat with Ian and Mary but then we both changed our minds and cooked dinner in out units..  While we were cooking Dan and Ian went over and visited with Jim..
Ian and Mary stopped over after dinner and they decided that they were going to leave in the morning and meet up with their friends on the Ohio Turnpike as they had plans to head to the East Coast before Ian and Mary went to Florida and Ruth and Jim were going to Texas..So Dan and I decided that we will head to Illinois in the morning.
There was a good rain later in the evening.   ~~Let see what tomorrow brings~~~

October 26th  Weds
Oh how I would of loved to sleep in this morning, but got up and had my coffee, there was a light rain .  I had my coffee and went and got cleaned up and we had some breakfast and then started to get things put away... I took Herbie for another walk while Dan was finishing up and Ian and Mary were getting things ready to pull out also..  OH OH,  Ian was having problems getting one of his legs to come up.  So he tried to hand crank, which he has never used.  It still did not come up, so Dan and Ian jacked up the side that the foot was on and then got it up high enough to get Ian's truck under.  They were going to go and find a service area to look at it and fix it.  They went to he RV place next to Elkhart Campground and the guys really didn't seem that they were that enthused about helping them, Mary walked over to Jim Beletti and asked if he knew of any repair place and sure enough Jim came through for them.  They took it over there and got it fixed and they were on their way to meet up with their friends.  Dan and I continued on down the road to Effingham Illinois where we stay at Camp Lakewood Rv Park.  What a great place and the owners are just as nice as they can be.. We stop there every year. They remember you and ask about your summer and etc.
We arrived at Lakewood early enough to have lunch, relax and then we went out for dinner at Ryan's Buffet.. All the years we have been going there  and not realizing that there was a Ryan's there.  Good Food.  Then we went to Walmart for a few groceries and Dan filled up with fuel and back we came to the unit and it started raining again.  Watched a few TV programs and then I went and cuddled in our warm bed.    .......................

October 27th  Thursday

Another morning and I can't sleep in...Dan is always up early and gets cleaned up and dressed and makes the coffee. So I was up early again and did the usual, have my coffee and then got ready for another day on the road.  Today we are heading for Sikeston, MO  Hinton RV. We have been going there for years also. It is another great place for an overnight. Flue stations right next door and then of course there is the LAMBERTS THROWED ROLLS.... We don't go there every time we stop, We call it a Heart Attack on A Plate... The food is so good and there is alot of it, and then all the sides that are give away, makes one person just to full.... Maybe next year..  We arrived early in the afternoon, and took Herbie for a sniff run and then made a lunch and relaxed.  My window valances on the side I sit fell off and so Dan fixed that and then we went to the outlet mall up the road and looked around and then we headed for Wal-mart... This is another place that we didn't go further into Sikeston, last year we did and found another new section of stores, and restaurants.  So we went to Wal-mart and bought me another new mouse. Bought one last year and it never did work right.  Wow this new mouse just runs away.  Came back home and fixed the Mexican left overs for dinner.. Yummy...   then Dan worked on the noise that my chair was making. Watched The Big Bang Theory and a few other programs, took Herbie out for his last call and went and cuddled in our warm bed. Dan is a night owl, stays up sleeps in his chair, reads e-mails and watches Dave Letterman..Of course with eyes closed.  LOL..  Until tomorrow..

October 28th  Friday

Woke up to 48 degrees , had coffee, turned on computer.. Read e-mails and facebook and found out that our good friends from Michigan were near us... Heading to Aransas Pass also.. While Dan took Herbie out for his morning duty and sniffs, I got dressed and when he got back we had some coffee cake this morning and got things ready to hit the road again... We pulled out of Hinton RV around 8:30 am and while on the road I called our friends Larry and Ginny and found out that they we on I-40 still in Tennessee, they were headed for Arkadelphia. We had reservations at the Riverside RV in North Little Rock as Dan wants to go to Camping World in North Little Rock.  When we punched it in the GPS, we realized that it was a short trip again.  So we did a mileage check and we decided that we would go on to Arkadelphia also,  Called and made reservaions and then cancelled the reservations that we had in North Little Rock... It will be nice to see them, we have tried 3 times to stop at their cabin for a overnight and it hasn't worked out. They are just as busy as we are.  So it will be nice to visit with them.  It is windy today and the wind is coming out of the north.. 52 degrees... bur-r-r but it feels nice once in a while.
Larry and Ginny called and said that they had broke down on the interstate. They had called someone to come and help them and that they had cancelled the reservation here at the campground.  We had been here last year and it is only good for an overnight at a last resort.  Sites are tight, all gravel on a hill.
Hope Larry and Ginny can be back on the road soon...   There is nothing worse than being on the road traveling and have truck/car problems...
