July 9th to July 15th

July 9th     Monday
Up early as usual, had coffee with Dan and a light breakfast.  Dan headed into Marquette to run some errands... I picked up Eileen and headed to Munising as I had a few errands that I had to do in town..  It was a nice day.  Did my grocery shopping and then stopped at green house to see if there were any end of season plants for sale.. Bought a few.  We stopped for a subway sandwich and then headed home.
I started washing clothes and bedding and towels for the trailer.

July 10th   Tuesday
Up early again and Dan and I had coffee and discussed what we were going to do.  He wanted to make a quick trip to Marquette and pick up a few more slabs of pork ribs and keep in freezer seeing that they were a good price.  Went to Menard's and bought some more red mulch for the side garden. Stopped at McDonald's for a McDouble and a Senior drink.. Dan wanted a hand helping him bring the picnic table that he made a few years ago back outside.   He had sanded it down and re-glassed it.  The only way it can be moved is by the tractor..
Had a light supper and then settled in for the evening... We sat on the back porch and waited to see if any animals come out to play..

July 11th    Wednesday
I went and watered my flowers this morning and seen that I had some plants that have to be planted in the new re-done garden..  Came in and made a plan, ya know you have to have a plan before you do something..  LOL  (that is a saying our friend Ron says).
Had breakfast and then went and got the garden tractor and cart out.. Herb had to go for his ride first though..  Got some tools that I needed, put my plants in the cart, a lawn chair, plant food and watering cans.  It is starting to get warm out,  Took the plants and set them where I thought I'd like them, and then sat and looked at them and made some changes.  It took me all afternoon to plant them, as my back was hurting so I had to sit in-between plantings... Dan dug up some ferns from the woods and planted them and that added a touch..  Dan then put down 4 bags of red mulch and we need some more.. He then watered his new grass and the garden.  It was a day of achievement..

July 12th   Thursday
It was a nice warm morning out at 7:30 AM. Let Herbie out and everything smelled so nice.  Dan went out after his coffee and weed whacked around the trees, rocks and woods line... Dust flying everywhere... When done he hooked up his new wire loom for his new brake unit, hooked up the trailer to truck to see how it worked and needless to say, it was not good... Words  flew and the frustration came  out..... He went and re-bled the trailer brakes and checked the activator and then pulled it up the drive again.. Not any good... More words flew and then he came in and made a few phone calls to the manufacturer and also to the place he bought the unit from... They are to get back to him in the morning...    Temps got to 99 degrees this afternoon and we had hamburgers for dinner. Then we went to Ron and Eileen's for a visit, so Herbie and Molly can play.   Day is over and Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day...

July 13th   Friday
Woke up early this morning.. 4:30 AM  yes, Laid there for about 45 minutes, then got up and made a cup of tea, turned on early morning news, and did some computer maintence.  Birds are singing and it is 67 degrees..  I have some errands to do in Marquette this morning.  I am picking up my friend Eileen and she is going along with me..We tried a different restaurant for lunch today.  Vango's on 3rd street in Marquette.  We both had a small Greek salad and I thought that it was very tasty.  They have alot of Greek items on their menu..    Got home and put my items I bought.
We went out for our Friday night Fish.   Jack's was really busy, but we weren't in a hurry.  Then afterwards we had our ice cream next door at Dairy Flo..  Dan got his ribs ready with the rub and put them in the refrigerator until Sunday.

July  14th  Saturday
Another nice morning and I was up early and showered and dress by 8:15 AM... Eileen and I were going to Munising to Jackie's for some ground cover plants that she was giving away.. Stopped at a Garage Sale and had a few errands  before heading back home.. It was warm again, but thank goodness for A/C in car and house...
Made lunch for Dan & I and then Dan went to Marquette to the home center to pick up what I could not get in Munising.  Dinner was really easy, we took Pasties out of freezer and popped in Microwave..  Done... After dinner we sat on the porch and the rains came and came hard.      That was good as we didn't have to water tonight...
We called Dan's Aunt who lives in Cumberland Wisc. and will be 97 degrees on the 20th. We thought that her birthday was this week. She was happy to hear from us.
Gee this week has gone fast...

July  15th   Sunday

It was a nice warm morning, made some blueberry muffins and Ron and  Eileen stopped over for coffee on the way home from church.

Dan got his smoker out and heated and ready to go.  We are having friends over for dinner and he wanted to smoke some ribs..  The ribs went in at 11 AM on a slow cook..  I got the rest of the stuff ready and worked on a craft until they got here.
When they arrived Dan served Margarita's and chips and salsa..
When it was time to cut the ribs, every one's mouth was watering..

We sat down to eat and there was so many that when our friends left, I gave them a doggy bag.  To top it off we had strawberry/blueberry shortcake...  Yummy...........
