December 3rd to December 9th 2012

December 3rd    Monday
Nice warm morning
Breakfast with HOC at Aranda's Mexican Grille in Rockport,  Took neighbors Monte and Judy from Idaho along and then drove then around Rockport and Fulton.

Stopped at Gift shop and bought another pair of Yellow Box Sandals.

December 4th    Tuesday
Walked around the park this morning before breakfast,
Went to Corpus for lunch to today at the Silverado Smokehouse. We took Gene and Linda along with us and met Ron, Rose and Robert.  We heard about the Carnival magic and what a great time they had.
We are looking forward to going on the Magic in January.

December 5th    Wednesday
Cool morning this morning.   57 degrees.  Dan and Gene went fishing today.  Hope that they have a great day like they had last week.

Tonight we are going with the HOC to Kody's in Port Aransas for All You Can Eat Shrimp

December 6th    Thursday
Dan and new neighbor went for choir practice(coffee) this morning with the boys.  When he got back I went and got my hair cut and then I went and picked up a few things at Wal-mart.  Stopped at Subway and brought a sandwich back for lunch..  Friends from Oklahoma, Joe and Ann stopped by and let us know that they had arrived last night.  So nice to see them.

Friends ask if we wanted to go to Refugio tonight to a music jam.  It was was really great. Lots of  entertainment. The place was packed and we seen other friends from other parks.  Nice to see them also.  On the way home we seen alot of Christmas decorations lite up around town.  It is beginning to look alot like Christmas.

December 7th    Friday
It is 60 degrees this morning and the sun is rising. Dan asked what we are doing today and a I said nothing really.. So we will see how the day turns out. I made our new Heartland Friends a bag full of Firecrackers and took them over for a going away present.  They were parked 2 sites away from us and had joined in on some of the Heartland events. They liked everyone and they signed up to be members..   Then Dan and I went on a Mission.. We went over to Salt Water Flats RV to meet some other Heartland Owners , only we could not find them..  Then we went over to Drifters and visited with Lee and Linda. From there, we went to Portland and picked up our mail and then went to Bealls to see what they had on sale..  I bought a necklace and earrings.  Then we went to HEB grocery store and picked up a few things and then headed home..  Was sitting around and our Heartland neighbors came over for a visit and brought us a pointsetta plant..  Afterwards, I walked Herbie and Dan grilled pork chops and when I got back, dinner was ready.  For dessert we went with our friends Ralph and Barb for ice cream at Dairy Queen.  Like I said earlier this morning, we never know what we are going to do..  Another week is almost over with...

December 8th    Saturday
Today  was a nice morning and enjoyed sitting and waking up with a cup of coffee and my computer. Called Ralph and Barb to see if they wanted to run with us this morning to craft fairs.   We went to the Palms for their craft fair, I bought a pie carrier, which could also be used for a casserole dish also. Then we went on to the craft fair at Lagoons RV. There was nothing that interested me. We did meet alot of friends that we knew from other parks. That was nice.   Then we went on to Alice Faye's for lunch and all had their fish sandwich.. We sat by the window that overlooked the bay.   We had a chance to visit and enjoy our sandwich.  Then we went on to find Southern Star RV park.  It is a new park, which is quite a distance off the main area.  Gravel sites and road, but they have a concrete pad that a picnic table sits on.  The owner was really nice and stopped up and let us know about the amenities..  After being in  parks that have all concrete sites and streets it would be hard to adjust to something different again.  Then on the way home we stopped over at Salt Water Flats to find a Heartland member.  Ah Ha we found them. Stopped in and introduced ourselves, and visited or a short while and invited them to a HOC breakfast on Tuesday...Got back to our park and Mr. Herbie was happy to see us.   We decided to stay home for dinner tonight and finish up some left overs.. That was good for a change..

December  9th   Sunday

It is a dreary morning and no sun.. Dan tried for quite awhile last night to install wireless printer and it did not work.. This morning, I tried to install it in my computer.  I did not get it installed wireless.  So I gave up and will re-install it later.  Dan went and tried his again and all of a sudden it was printing what he tried last night.  This is so strange.

Howard's are coming for a homemade waffle breakfast. Dan got everything ready and went and melted the butter and he put it in the microwave to long and butter went every where.  So now there is a mess to clean up.  Gene and Linda came for waffles and then Lee and Linda stopped over and we had a house full and Miss Marcy had been egging Mr. Herbie on and he tried to stay away from her...

Went to see our friends from Oklahoma in the back gated area and then we went out for Mexican at a new restaurant in Portland.  Food was good, of course we brought home doggy box and Herbie was right there to see what he was going to get.

Sunday night football.  PACKERS vs. LIONS.....This is going to be an interesting game with all the snow and cold..  Yeah!!  Packers won..   Well we finished this week, lets see what next week brings.   So long...

November 26th to December 2, 2012

November 26th   Monday
It was foggy this morning and the sun came out and burned the fog away.  I hobbled out of bed and made it to the bathroom and down stairs to my chair.  I believe that the foot isn't as swollen as it was.  When Dan was  done getting cleaned up and dressed he came on down and put an ice pack on my foot and made me some coffee.  He took Mr. Herbie out for his walk and he will be going to breakfast with the Heartland group this morning.  I sat all day with my foot up.  Carrie MacDonald from Minnesota stopped by to visit with me. Rowan Camp stopped over this afternoon to discuss his band playing for the Heartland Meet and Greet in Feb. I sat at the table for a while today also and made a necklace.  Dan went out for Happy Hour and when he got back made dinner of Tilapia. It was good , but I had a problem eating again.  We settled down for our Monday night comedies.. 2 Broke Girls and Mike and Molly.

November 27th   Tuesday
61 degrees this morning and it is cool out.  Today my foot feet feels alot better.  I think that if I do one more day of ice and keeping my foot elevated should really help.  Well, I wanted to have a meeting with my HOC committee about the Meet and Greet that we will be having in February. So, seeing that I was able to walk better, we met in Rockport at The Beachhouse for lunch.  It was nice being able to get out after being in a chair for 5 days.

November 28th   Wednesday
50 degrees this morning and cool out.    Dan and Gene are going to go fishing, Once they get to the jetty boat and see what the wind is like they will make a decision if they will go on the jetty. The boat runs every hour, so if the winds are too cool and they decide that they aren't going to fish, then they have to wait an hour for the boat to come back. We, Gene and Linda and Dan and I, were suppose to go to the valley today and Then to the flea market and then over to Mexico on Thursday morning to get teeth cleaned and a walk through one of the market stores and pick up some meds.  With my foot being not completely healed we decided to wait for a couple of weeks.  There is alot of walking.

Went to Mexican Taqueri for Enchilada's. Gene and Linda went with us. Then went to Dairy Queen for a dessert.

November 29th   Thursday
Wow, I over slept this morning and my whole routine is off wack...  My foot is alot better today.  I was having breakfast this morning when my friend Susan stopped by to see how I was doing.  I was hobbling around and my foot is lots better.  Took a few loads over to the laundry in the park.
Today I got some of my beads out and was playing around, thinking that I would make something. In the afternoon we went grocery shopping. We bought some steamed shrimp and had them for a quick dinner with some rice.

November 30th   Friday
It was a warmer morning today and we had the rest of the laundry to do. So we left early and got it done, and then we went to Portland and got the mail.  After we put the laundry away, it was time to go and meet our Heartland Friends for lunch.  We had a Heartland Owner from Idaho parked next to us and we invited them to join us.  We went to Trout Street in Port Aransas.  We ate out on the porch over looking the marina.

The food was good and the company was GREAT.  Afterwards we drove around and showed our neighbors a few sites and we headed back to the RV park.

December 1st     Saturday
It was a nice morning and got going early as I wanted to go to the Pioneer RV park for their craft show.  Gene and Linda met us there. The craft show was really nice and I bought a few things.  I love those scrubbies and left my spares at home, so I bought a couple of those, I also bought some knitted dish clothes, as I should learn how to knit so I could make my own..and I also bought a hot pad in the shape of a sandal(thong)..  We sat there and had a cup of coffee and visited and seen other people that we know.  Then we went to the Island Cafe for a sandwich.  I had a bowl of soup, and the rest had fish and chips.  Wow that was good fish.  There are new owners and the prices have changed.  I guess it is a vote that we will go back for their fish and chips.

When we got back home our friends Ralph and Barb had arrived, and we stopped by and said hi.  We were happy to see them.
Herbie is resting in his new bed with his baby

Later, Dan and I were going back to Port Aransas for the Boat Parade that started the
Christmas festivities in the area. We asked if Ralph and barb wanted to join us and Ralph said that he would go as Barb had to fee the dogs and she wanted to relax and unwind. Last year we went to Aransas Pass boat parade, but this one surpassed last years, even though I expected more.

After the parade we stopped for a bite to eat at the Mexico Taqueria.  By the time we got home I was ready to get jammies on and settle in.

December 2nd    Sunday   ~~ FISH FRY DINNER ~~

Another morning that I had to get up early and get dressed.  Omar was coming to was the 5th wheel. I had some prep work to do also as we were having a fish fry with some of the red snapper (RED'S) that Dan and Gene had caught,  We invited Ralph and Barb also..  Dan had hush puppies, baked beans, fish, and the others brought a dish and dessert.  What a feast..  Everyone was full, with smiles on their face  and left with a doggie bag.
