Wow, 77 degrees this morning...Nice Breeze coming in... Dan was out side having his coffee and then took Herbie for his morning walk... Ron and Dan went for coffee as usual and I decided that I had to go and find someplace to get a pedicure... Went to Kim's in the strip mall by Wal-mart and had them done. It is amazing how different procedures every salon has.. My toesy's felt good when I got home...I still say that the best pedicure that I got was in Daphne, Alabama..It is just too far to go for one though..
We had contacted Camping World about ordering some outside window awnings and we ended up ordering them. They will be here in about 2 weeks.. I can not wait, as the afternoon sun faces our door side of the unit and the sun beats on the unit...
Came back and hung around, Susan and Arnold and Boots came in around 4 PM.. sure nice to see them. It always takes time to get things together and organized after you arrive at a park when you plan on staying for a long period of time. We went to Happy Hour again and then came home and made a Taco Salad for dinner... Yummy!!
Nov 8th Tuesday
Good Morning, 77 degrees here again this morning and the sun is shining. Dan had turned on the air last night and this morning the trailer was nice and cool. Dan and Ron went on the coffee run, and I had my coffee and did email. I also made some flower pins. Showered and got dressed and then took Herbie for another walk, and we got ready to go and pick up Dick and Pat Swanstrom as we were going into Corpus Christi for lunch at CHEDDARS... Oh it was yummy and we had a great time filling our faces with good food. Pat and I had Chicken Pot Pie, Dick had a Mushroom Hamburger and Dan had the Chicken Tenders and we had a plate of onion rings for an appetizer... After we left there we took Mustang Island back to Port Aransas.. We stopped at my favorite boutique and I bought another pair of Yellow Box sandals.. I just love them. I am going to save them for when we go on our cruise. We went to the Marina on Port Aransas and watched the boats and seen that the dolphins were out.. Then we headed back home. This was the first time that we were on the ferry this year...
Dropped Dick and Pat off and then stopped over by Rob and Kay and wished them safe travels as they were heading out in the morning for Omaha, NE so Rob could get his 3rd Chemo treatment and then they are heading back home to South Dakota. After he has his last chemo they will return back to Texas for the rest of the winter. We had a nice time with The Swanstrom's today. Came home and Dan sat out and Herbie all of a sudden was sniffing around my purse and he had his nose inside my purse and it dawned on me that I had some chicken in a plastic bag for him and he found it... Gee what a brat.....
Nov 9th Wednesday
60 degrees this morning.. Dan and I went about our early rituals. The sky was over casted and around noon it got windy. That is one thing about Texas, it is windy . I had to fill my meds container, I do it for 3 weeks at a time. Went to Corpus to meet our friends Ron, Rose and Robert and we met at one of my, (our) favorite places to eat. Jason's Deli..They have a great menu, but mine is the Ruben Sandwich.. We visited with Ron and Rose and I picked up my Avon that I had ordered. Got back home in time for Happy Hour and still to full from lunch, made some popcorn to snack on. The Evening brought some wind and rain. It is a good night to sleep.
Nov 10th Thursday
Temp 49 degrees at 6:30 this morning. Red skies as the sun was coming up.. We are having our 5th wheel washed and waxed this morning. Lots of bugs on the front of the trailer from the trip down here. Dan and I went to Wal-mart to get some ink for the printer.. Dan went and re-did the direct tv dish to make it more stable, it took awhile to get it set right. Went to Happy Hour and then afterwards went to PIZZA HUT for the $10.00 pizza special.. YUMMY!!
My friend from home called, she is having surgery in a week and half. She will be in my thoughts and prayers for a great recovery..the high got to about 70 and it was windy.. Heard that back home that the snow storm was upon them.
Nov 11th Friday
It was 41 degrees @ 6:30 am outside and 59 degrees in the 5th wheel..A tad chilly..By the time that I got showered and dressed i had to go to the grocery to pickup something for the Pot Luck this evening..I decided that I was going to make a Quesadilla Casserole. It is good and easy to make... We went to Camper Clinic in Rockport for their open house..Had been back and forth on the Heartland Owners Club Forum and posting back and forth with other HOC members that are in the area.
They said that they were going to be at Campers Clinic around noon for lunch.. So we planned on being there also. I had my name badge pinned on my purse and I also wore a HOC cap... We walked around and then went and got our sausage sandwich and side and sat down at a table that was out of the shade. Shortly after 2 other couples came with their plates and asked if they could sit with us at our table, we said sure no problem. They were talking among themselves and mentioned a Big Horn 3750 that was out there and how they like that bathroom. I asked what they had now for a unit and they said Sundance. I asked it they were from Tennessee and they said yes, well what a surprise those were the couples that I had been posting back and forth with... We laugh about the coincidence and introduced our selves and continued to visit. We are meeting this coming Thursday at Pizza Hut for dinner....
It was 59 degrees this morning at 6am....We were going to go out for breakfast this morning and then run to the grocery for some steaks that are on sale... Our rope lights did not work last night and then Dan was looking into it this morning.. He opened the fuse box only to find that a wire was burned and then the investigating started.. He took the fuse box apart and started checking and the wire that was for the furnace was burned at the connector . He got that all repair and checked out. Seems to be working OK. My friend Susan came over with a birthday card for me and we visited for awhile. It is so nice to be at a park where you know a few people.
Went to Portland, picked up our steaks, and then went to BEALLS.. I had some coupons to use and I found some deals.. 2 pairs of capri's, pair of earrings and a nice top.. Stopped and had a sandwich and headed back home. then.....I was sitting in my chair and I head water running and I seen water on the counter below the air conditioner, huh, I thought this is not good. Dan was outside and I got him in and he looked, listened and then said a few choice phrases and proceeded to open up the cover and water poured out.. Then another saga began... After he took everything apart and dried out, he got it repaired. We went to Happy Hour and got in the Happy Mode and then Dan took me out to eat for my Birthday,,, We went to Portland to a new Steakhouse which they were building last year. The food was good, but we like Texas Roadhouse better... Oh I got a big piece of Cheesecake for my birthday..
All in All It Was A Good DAY!!!!!
Nov 13th Sunday
Today was sort of a quiet day.. Went and did laundry. It took me a few hours to do it as I had to wait for washers and then dryers.. They only have 4 washers and dryers. They are going to put some more in. A few more units came in today, before we know it the park will be full. When I got back with the laundry I made some lunch and then I settled down to watch NASCAR, Dan was sunning himself and visiting with the doggie walkers. I thought that it was a good race.. It will be interesting to watch next Sunday, the last race of the year..It is getting excited.. We had grilled pork chops and then we settled in for a quiet night.
Well we had a interesting week, wonder what next week will bring... Tune in...
As Always Have A Great Week everyone!!
