January 30th   Monday

PALM AIRE HOTEL -- WESLACO, TX.

Woke up about 7:30 and it was humid out... Dan and I went to the restaurant for breakfast.  Full breakfast with the room and it was good.. Waffles, Omelet's made to order, fresh fruit, biscuits and sausage gravy, plus much more... It was yummy...  Came back to the room and hung out there, for awhile. Took Herbie for a walk and then we went out for the day. Went to Camper's world and spent time in there getting the stuff that we needed and some stuff we did not really need.   Then we took a ride to Mission and visited our friends Jay and Stella.  Then the 4 of us went to Grannies for something to eat.  They had the best hamburger I have tasted in a long time..   Dan and I went back to the hotel and chilled out.... Watched some TV and played on the computers..

January 31st   Tuesday

Got up early, went for breakfast  and then loaded our belongings into the truck and headed for Mission to drop Herbie off at Sandie and Wes's home and our home for the rest of the week.  We had made plans for our friends back at Southern Oaks to meet us at the Mexico boarder and then the 4 of us would cross over for a few hours.   Well there was a bad accident on Hwy 83 and backed up cars and trucks for over 5 miles.. That was going the way we had to go back to Weslaco.  So we got there, had our hugs and Thank You's and Dan and I had taken back roads back south to by-pass the traffic jam.   We made it, even though we were a bit late.  This was Ralph and Barb's first trip over the boarder and we didn't want them to go by themselves.  Progesso was just packed with Winter Texans.

February 1st   Wednesday

We got up and had coffee and muffins and then later we went to breakfast with Sandie and Wes to Diaz's..  We went to Sam's club and picked up something for the Meet and Greet on Thursday.  We decided that we wanted something lite for dinner so we went to Subway.  That was just fine with us as we had been eating alot.  Just relaxed the rest of the evening..

February  2nd   Thursday

This morning was warm and  on the humid side.  Sandie and Wes home is nicely air conditioned and it was a treat staying in..  We had a Heartland meet and Greet at 4 PM at the Retama Village in Mission, which is just down the road from Sandie and Wes.  We were one of the 1st ones that arrived.  What a beautiful place.  We met alot of Heartlanders and had a good time.   A great assortment of food for the pot luck. 

February  3rd   Friday
Another warm day in the Rio Grande Valley.  Went to Ron Hoover's for a Dealer Open House, put on by Heartland. 
Lunch was provided,  Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and fixin's.  We got a chance to go through some new units, we decided that there was nothing that caught our eye..  (Thank Goodness)  Afterwards we went and did some shopping, came back to Wes and Sandie's and then later went out to eat.. 

February 4th   Saturday

We left Mission about 8:30 am and it was very warm and humid.  Arrived back home around 12 noon.  The temps had dropped and it was nice and cool when we arrived.

Unpacked the truck and put stuff away. Around 4 PM we went to the clubhouse for Happy Hour and there was a Country Band playing good ole country music along with Country Rock.. The Winter Texan Band, is a group of friends who are Winter Texans and got together and play some good music.   It was nice to see them again.  We went out for dinner again.    It started raining and then storms and thunder came all night .

 

February  5th   Sunday

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY

Still raining hard.  It rained all night long.

It was nice to wake up in our own bed and be home.  It's nice to get away, also nice to come back home.  I made breakfast and read the newspaper and then started making a list of what I need to do before we leave on the 12th for our cruise. We went to the grocery store as there was not much left around here to eat..

Well this is about it for this week.. We have a busy week coming before we leave..
