August 13th thru August 19th 2012

August 13th     Monday      Kewaunee RV Park

It is a sunny morning and Cool, but it will warm up soon...  Today we went to Door County Peninsula.  Our Winter Texan Friends stay at Wagon Wheels Campground in Rowely's Bay. They are work campers and had the day off.  They have a beautiful site.

 Yummy Hot Dogs
 Arnold and Dan Visiting

Susan prepared a nice fire for us and grilled hot dogs. They tasted so so good.
As we were driving up the peninsula, all the towns have so many cafe's. bistro's and boutique's.  Lots of colorful flowers everywhere..   Going through Sister Bay, we even seen the Goats resting on the roof of Al Johnson Restaurant.
On the way back home we drove done the Lake Michigan side and stopped at a cheese store and bought some chocolate cheese.  Got back to the campground and sat outside for a while and then had dinner... What a nice day we had!

August 14th     Tuesday
Another nice sunny morning,  made Dan some sausage and eggs for breakfast.  Didn't do much today. We stayed around in the morning and then after lunch we took a drive to Algoma and then to the grocery store and then back to the campground.  Sat outside and the weather was just so beautiful.   I brought out some material that I wanted to cut into strips for a craft project. Dan helped me cut it.  Herbie was enjoying just laying in the grass and sun.. He sure loves the sun..
Another beautiful day.    After dinner Dan sat out and it was getting a bit humid out.

August  15th    Wednesday   Leaving for Wisconsin Dells Area
What another nice morning. Got coach ready to close up.  Paska's came over to say Good-Bye and we left Kewaunee about 9 AM. Heading for Wisconsin Dells.  As we were driving down some country roads, we seen how bad the crops are.  Alot of the corn fields are dried up with small stocks of corn.  As we were coming into the Wisconsin Dells area the traffic picked up and people where everywhere.  Alot more hotels are around and huge waterparks..  Country Roads RV Campground is away from all the hoop-la.. It is an adult park and not to many kids...As we arrived at out site we seen that alot of the HOC were here already..  Nice to see everyone again.  Dan got us all set up while Herbie and I went visiting. Then I went in and got some things organized.  Sat outside with Dan, then took  Herbie for a walk and met up with Kelly and Mike, who is recently retired from the US Army.

I have never met them, but we both have been reading each other's blog. What a pleasure. Later, we went out for dinner with 2 other couples.  Came back and enjoyed the evening weather.

August   16th    Thursday
There were thunderstorms about 3:15 AM, Woke up closed the window and went back to sleep.  The power went out for a while. Woke up again at 6:30 AM and it started raining hard again.   Dan took Herbie out for a quick walk and while he was out there the skies opened up. He hurried back to the 5th wheel with Herbie and they both were drenched.   2 PM we had a meet and greet at the pavilion.  So much good snacks and food.

I am trying so hard to be good and not eat all those wonderful snacks....  Later a bunch of us went to Ho-Chunk Casino.  We have never been there, it a big casino.. Good news is I walked out with what I walked in with..  Yipp-e-e-e-e-e..

August 17th     Friday
Oh My, I slept until 7:45AM..  Had some breakfast, and got dressed, Dan and I went to Wal-mart to pick up a few things, and took a ride to Reedsburg.  A group went out for a Fish Fry, but Dan and I chose to stay home and have dinner at home.  Afterwards we back to the Casino, had a great time and did not win big..   It was a good day all in all.

August  18th    Saturday
Another nice morning....  We were up early again, and walked around and visited with friends later in the morning.    Later i got my dish prepared for the Potluck.

The Potluck dinner was awesome.  Such good food.

After dinner a group of Heartlanders went to the Tommy Bartlett Water Show. We chose to stay home and we had a campfire and invited those that also did not go.  It was a good time and got to know some other Heartlander's. It was around 10:30 when we all were getting tired and called it a night...    Another great day!!!

August 19th     Sunday

We were up early and got alot of our stuff put together and went up for a continental breakfast with our HOC Friends..  We said our Goodbye's and Thank You's and headed back to the Coach for final closing and hookups.   Jim and Nancy Beletti were following us home and staying with us for a couple of nights and then they were going to go to The Michigan HOC Rally, with a stop to Mackinac Island area overnight.  Dan and I had cancelled our reservations to that Rally.
We arrived home about 7 PM and got Jim and Nancy all hooked up and settled... Monday we went out for breakfast, and then showed them a few sites in the area. Came back home and Dan got the smoker ready to go and then put in some ribs for dinner. Emme and Herbie enjoyed running around in the yard while Jim relaxed outside and Nancy was taking care of business inside.
