~~~ 2014 Thanksgiving Week ~~~
The week started off with windy, cold temps and of course rain.. Sunday night Nov. 23rd the winds were blowing so bad that the trailer was rocking and then came the rains..Herbie must be getting use to this weather, as he wasn't shaking, he just went and hid behind Dan's chair.. After I went to bed, he came in also, but had a baby with him...
Woke up to nice sunny morning.
Monday 11-24
I had an appointment with an orthopedic Dr. in Corpus. I have some terrible pain in my right hand index finger.. He said that I have 2 choices, have a cortisone shot or live with the inflammation and pain. I chose the shot.. OH ouch.. The other issues I have with my arm and pain going into my shoulder has nothing to do with my trigger finger, it has to do with the injury to my cervical neck discs.
Sunday 11-30
What a beautiful morning. I got up and dressed and took Mr. Herbie for his walk, and then I decided that I would have my coffee outside. Read the paper and just enjoyed the morning. Neighbor Lornea came over with her coffee and we sat and visited and then across the road, neighbor Melvin and Eunice were up and about. Melvin had started his charcoal grill and all of a sudden he was grilling Chicken, ribs and chops.. Come to find out there were going to share it with their neighbors. Then they decided to see if they could move into a empty spot next to us. So, when they found out they could, everyone started moving things and Dan took our truck and hooked up the trailer and moved it for them.. Our early happy hour continued until all day, others stopped by and we had a really great and fun day.
Our friends from South Dakota called and wondered if we wanted to meet them at Pizza Hut and so we went over there and had dinner and a visit..
Well, it was a long day..
Monday 12-1
Looks like another beautiful day..
Tuesday 12-2
I had a appointment early with the chiropractor and the weather was nice in the morning. After my treatment I decided I was going to see if I could get my hair cut at the salon in the strip mall. Yep, they took me and I really liked my cut. I guess I am not made to have longer hair.. I like the idea of having something short and easy to manage.
Wednesday 12-3 ( Salty Dog Boarding.. Don Wes Flea Market and LaQunita Inn, McAllen, Texas.
We left the house around 7:45 to take Mr. Herbie over to Salty Dog for a overnight stay..
On the way down I contacted friends Sam and Linda who are staying down there for a few months. We made plans to meet up with them at 1 PM at the flea market.
We stopped at McDonald's in Falfurris for a breakfast sandwich and we have seen alot of weird things on the road but this was a double taker.
We arrived at Don Wes flea Market around 12:30 PM and we walked around.
Met up with our friends and sat in the courtyard and visited for awhile, then we went to Gonzales Burger for their famous burgers.
We had a great visit and plan on seeing them again when we go down for a week in January.
We then went and checked into our hotel and chilled out for a few hours. It was a long ride and our stomachs were full.
Thursday 12-4 (LaQunita Inn - McAllen, Texas)
We were up early and went to get some breakfast and then checked out of the Hotel and headed for Progresso, Mexico.. We got a parking spot right by walkway which was great. The vendors were just starting to set up outside. Dan was having his teeth cleaned. I sat outside reading my book. Then when he was done we went and Dan got a pedicure and I a manicure and then we went and had coffee and a roll at Renee's.. Went to the Disco and looked around and then we headed home.. We got back in Rockport at 3 PM and we picked up Mr. Herbie and came home.
Friday 12-5
It was a nice morning, Dan went for his coffee time with the boys and I went to the Chiropractor for a adjustment. Boy, I sure do feel alot better. So I am not going to go 2 times a week, I am going to try once a week and then maybe every other week.. Came back and picked up Dan and we had some other errands to run. It was a warm day with humidity and that is OK.. Better than cold. I heard the weather man say that this is a mild winter. Lets hope so..
We made plans to go out to dinner with our friends Al and Carol who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. We went to Allegro Bay in Rockport. We had a very nice dinner and visit.
Sat 12-6
It was a quiet day, went out for a late breakfast and then I had a few errands to run.. Started Happy Hour a little early and went in when the sun went down..
Sun 12-7
I made breakfast early, showered, and got dressed, and got dinner all ready so all I had to do was pop it in the oven.. It was yummy again.. Scallop potatoes and ham.. No sun today, cloudy, humid and rain off and on.. It was just a lazy day...
We made up our mind that we are going to make a real fast trip to Tennessee to get another drivers license as we never did get the original one.. 2 days to get to Tennessee, one day taking care of business and then 2 days back to Texas.. I hate those kind of trips...
Here is a picture of a plant that I have been trying to keep alive for many years..It has been in many rain storms, have ended up with no leaves, and wind. I think that this year it will survive..
Tuesday 12-09
We had ordered new carpeting and kitchen flooring for our 5th wheel.. It was installed today..I am so so happy with it..
Nothing new this week 11-25 to 11-29
This is what it looked like before
This is the new flooring and carpet
So pretty
While all this was being done I took Herbie over to Salty Dog for play day.
He seen the truck pull in and look who is excited.
Weds 12-10
Dan had his truck detailed out today.. They came right to the park and did it.. It looks so good, scrubbed the interior, washed and waxed the outside, steamed the engine.. It is so clean, I hate to even ride in it. It has almost 100,000 miles and looks just like it did when he first got it.
On Sat 12-13 we are making a fast trip back to Tennessee so we can have our driver license re-issued. We got the priority package that was sent to the park with our license and other mail in it. So we are driving on expired license.. Not a good thing.. We plan on being back in Aransas Pass by Thursday..
Enjoy your weekend. Remember this when you are out doing your Christmas Shopping!!!
